I.   Introduction
================
wBiff is a Windows 3.x mail notification (biff) program that can
be used with any POP3 server.

II.  SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
========================
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher
- 1 Meg of Hard Disk space
- Installed WINSOCK.DLL version 1.1 or higher
- E-mail account that uses POP3 protocol

III. Installation
=================
If you have received the wBiff files in an archive such as a ZIP
file, extract the files into either a temp directory on your hard
drive, or onto a diskette.

Run the SETUP application that is contained in this directory or
diskette that you created. For example, if you extracted the
application files onto a disk in drive A:, then from Program
Manager you would select the Run command from the File menu, type
A:\SETUP and press enter.

Once SETUP starts executing, just follow the prompts.

IV.  SETUP.EXE CAN'T INSTALL
============================
If for some reason SETUP.EXE won't install wBiff on your computer,
you can use the DOS command, EXPAND, to decompress the files
individually. You must supply the source and destination
filenames to EXPAND for all files.

expand A:\bc40rtl.dl_ c:\windows\system\bc40rtl.dll
expand A:\bids40.dl_ c:\windows\system\bids40.dll
expand A:\owl200.dl_ c:\windows\system\owl200.dll
expand A:\wbiff.ex_ c:\wbiff\wbiff.exe
expand A:\wbiff.hl_ c:\wbiff\wbiff.hlp

Afterward, in Program Manager or File Manager, select File|Run
and enter C:\WBIFF\WBIFF.EXE to start wBiff.

VI.  DISCLAIMER - LICENSE
=========================

wBiff is supplied as is. The author disclaims all warranties,
expressed or implied, including, without limitation, the
warranties of merchantability and of fitness for any purpose. The
author assumes no liability for damages, direct or consequential,
which may result from the use of wBiff.

wBiff is a "shareware program" and is provided at no charge to the
user for evaluation for a period of 30 days. Feel free to share
it with your friends, but please do not give it away altered or as
part of another system. The essence of "user-supported" software
is to provide personal computer users with quality software
without high prices, and yet to provide incentive for programmers
to continue to develop new products. If you find this program
useful and find that you are using wBiff and continue to use it
after 30 days, you must register it.

You are encouraged to pass a copy of wBiff along to your friends
for evaluation. Please encourage them to register their copy if
they find that they can use it. All registered users will receive
a copy of the latest version of the wBiff.
